If you live outside of New Zealand it is probably cheaper to buy my amateur radio books from Amazon or the RSGB webshop. The Kindle versions are also available from Amazon.

The IC-905 is a truly groundbreaking radio from Icom. For the first time you can activate the microwave bands without having to build a station with external transverters. The IC-905 makes it easy. 2m, 70cm, 1.2 GHz, 2.4 GHz, and 5.6 GHz is standard, plus 10 GHz with the optional CX-10G transverter. As well as covering the whole bands, not just a single frequency like some transverters, you get the analogue voice modes plus D-Star and amateur TV video.
Is this the way to go? How does it work? What about the Es'Hail 2 satellite? I cover the pros and cons of buying the IC-905. Is it better or cheaper than the transverter option?
The Hermes Lite 2 is a QRP SDR transceiver. It is not a kit but it does require assembly into the optional case. The book covers this small transceiver, the RF filter board, I/O board, and the Hermes Lite 2+ board. I will cover interfacing the radio with several SDR programs including Thetis, piHPSDR, and SDR Console v3.
